Ukraine’s Stolen Children: 35,000 Lives Torn Apart by War

A new report by the Yale School of Public Health Humanitarian Research Lab, published on September 16, 2025, reveals that over 35,000 Ukrainian children have been abducted by Russian forces since the beginning of the invasion. Transferred to more than 200 facilities in Russia and occupied territories, these children are subjected to “patriotic re-education” programs – ideological indoctrination, erasure of their national identity, and in some cases, military training, including the use of drones. This constitutes a blatant violation of international law, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Geneva Conventions. The abduction, deportation, and forced adoption of children are recognized as war crimes and may amount to crimes against humanity.

These practices are not only designed to deprive Ukraine of its demographic future but also to reshape the identity of an entire generation. Behind every number lies a human tragedy: a child torn from parents, a family shattered, a stolen identity.

Our NGO fights to ensure these tragedies are not forgotten and to support survivors.

Your support helps assist victims, investigate the crimes committed, and restore dignity to those the war seeks to erase.
