Article 1 – Identity of the Data Controller
This privacy policy aims to inform users of the website https://fuvi.org about the methods of collection, use, and protection of their personal data by FUVI – Ukrainian Fund of International Volunteers, a non-profit association governed by the French law of 1901, with its headquarters located at 7/11 Place des Cinq Martyrs du Lycée Buffon – 75014 Paris.
FUVI acts as the data controller, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – EU Regulation 2016/679) and the amended French Data Protection Act.
Article 2 – Data Collected
When you interact with the FUVI website, various types of data may be collected.
When joining the association, the following information may be requested: first name, last name, email address, phone number, and an open text field for additional information.
For newsletter subscription, only the email address is collected.
When making an online donation, your first name, last name, and email address are collected. Banking data, such as credit card numbers, are processed securely and directly by specialized service providers Stripe and PayPal. These data are not stored or accessible by FUVI.
Finally, browsing data are collected through technical and marketing cookies during your visit to the site, in accordance with our privacy policy.
Article 3 – Purpose of Data Processing
Personal data are collected for specific purposes. FUVI processes them to manage membership administration, organize the collection of donations and the issuance of tax receipts, send information and updates via the newsletter, and improve website navigation through audience analysis. These processes are carried out in the interest of FUVI’s non-profit mission and in accordance with the principle of data minimization.
Article 4 – Legal Bases for Processing
The data processing carried out by FUVI relies on various legal bases outlined in Article 6 of the GDPR. Some processing is based on the explicit consent of the data subjects, particularly for newsletter subscriptions or the acceptance of non-essential cookies. Other processing stems from legal obligations, such as accounting requirements related to donations. Lastly, certain processing may be based on the legitimate interest of the association, for example, to properly manage its members and support its humanitarian activities.
Article 5 – Data Retention Period
Personal data are kept only for the time strictly necessary for the purposes for which they were collected. Donation-related data are retained in accordance with accounting and tax obligations. Newsletter-related information is kept until the user withdraws their consent. Data collected during membership registration are kept for the duration of the membership, then archived to meet potential administrative or legal obligations.
Article 6 – Data Recipients
Access to personal data is restricted to duly authorized FUVI members in the course of their duties. Some processing is also carried out by trusted external service providers acting on behalf of FUVI, notably Stripe and PayPal for secure online payment processing. These providers may process the data only on FUVI’s instructions and in compliance with GDPR requirements.
Article 7 – Data Transfers Outside the European Union
As a rule, personal data are hosted within the European Union. If a transfer were to occur to a third country, it would be exclusively to a state with an adequate level of protection recognized by the European Commission or based on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission.
Article 8 – Rights of Data Subjects
In accordance with Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, each individual whose data is collected has rights over their data. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, and data portability under the conditions provided by the regulation. If processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To exercise these rights, please send a request to the following address: praesidium@fuvi.org.
In case of difficulty, you may also contact the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) via its website www.cnil.fr.
Article 9 – Cookies
