NewspaperResilience in Summer: In Izyum, Life Returns Thanks to Your Support

July 24, 2025

In June, life slowly returned to the children of Izyum thanks to your donations. Our Safe Space welcomed 18 children for a total of 24 creative and emotional support workshops.

Izyum, a city in Eastern Ukraine heavily bombed since the start of the war, remains home to families fighting to survive. For the youngest, war has taken their childhood, but thanks to your solidarity, FUVI provides them with a refuge – physically and emotionally.

Throughout the month, children created handmade artwork, played sports, and participated in group activities focused on emotional sharing and mutual support. Socialization was a key goal: after months in basements, these children are relearning how to laugh, talk, and trust again.

June began with a small celebration to mark the start of summer break – a simple but joyful moment that brought light into their daily lives.

Your donations make this possible. Each gift translates into safety, learning, and renewed hope. The renovation of the 100 m² bomb shelter is progressing well, and we remain committed to making it a true space for both protection and personal growth.

To keep going, we still need your help. Every donation matters.
